Attendance Information

The following statements are taken from our attendance policy:

Kirk Ireton Primary School is committed to helping children make the best possible progress with their education.  To do this, they need to attend school regularly and punctually.  It is the parent’s legal responsibility to ensure that this happens.

 

It is recognised that for illness or other exceptional reasons, children may occasionally have to be absent from school, but it needs to be made clear that in the interests of their education, they should only be kept off school if it is essential.

If you do wish to take your child out of school for any non-essential reason you will need to complete a Holiday Request Form - one of these must be completed every time you would like to take your child out of school for any purpose, other than for medical reasons (not including medical appointments that could be made out of school time).
